Gamma Emerald Move Tutoring & TMs

Use Gamma Emerald’s Change Move interface for TMs and move tutoring, check compatibility and rearrange moves without treating TMs like one-use items.

How it works

The Change Move interface combines learned-move management with compatible TMs and tutoring options. TMs collected in this version remain available rather than disappearing after one use.

Using the interface

  1. Open the party or PC/Box tools for the target Pokémon.
  2. Enter Change Move.
  3. Switch to Available TMs or the compatible move list.
  4. Select a move and choose the current slot to replace.
  5. Review power, accuracy, category and description before confirming.

Gym TM rewards

Roxanne awards TM39 Rock Tomb, Brawly awards TM08 Bulk Up, and Wattson awards TM34 Shock Wave. Once registered, these can be taught again to compatible Pokémon through the move interface.

Compatibility still matters: a move appearing in the wider system does not mean every species can learn it.

Build coverage deliberately

Use tutoring to fix a specific matchup or role. Four unrelated high-power moves are often less useful than one STAB option, one coverage move and tools that support the Pokémon’s actual stats.
