The current release

What is Gamma Emerald?

Gamma Emerald is a standalone, unofficial fan remake that reimagines Pokémon Emerald with pixel characters, 3D environments, dynamic light and a rebuilt battle system.

Early Access is the first third of Hoenn built from scratch: the route begins in Littleroot, reaches Mauville, and includes three badges. The modern engine adds a day/night cycle, real-time lighting, berry growing, breeding, move tutoring, following Pokémon and peer-to-peer trading.

It is not a Nintendo, Game Freak or The Pokémon Company release. The project is free and non-commercial, and the developer’s current EA page is the correct starting point.
