Gamma Emerald P2P Trading Guide

Prepare a direct Gamma Emerald player trade, match versions, protect saves and troubleshoot peer-to-peer connection problems in Early Access.

How it works

Gamma Emerald includes peer-to-peer player trading. It is a direct connection feature, not a public marketplace or always-on matchmaking service.

Before connecting

  1. Confirm both players run the same EA version.
  2. Back up both saves.
  3. Use stable networks and close VPN or network-filter tools for the first test.
  4. Agree on the exact Pokémon and trade direction before opening the session.
  5. Test with a low-value trade before moving a rare or trained Pokémon.

Why P2P can fail

Peer-to-peer traffic depends on both network paths. Strict NAT, school or hotel Wi-Fi, VPN routing, firewall prompts, or different game versions can block a session even when both games launch normally.

Change one network variable at a time. If the connection begins only after disabling a security layer, restore that layer and create the narrowest game-specific allowance rather than leaving broad protection off.

Trade safety

Keep the pre-trade backups until both players have reopened the game and confirmed the result. Do not force-close during the exchange or overwrite both backups immediately afterward.
